Lyvonnia S. Poppell

Lyvonnia Poppell serves as principal-in-charge of Jackson Thornton’s tax practice. She brings more than 30 years and a broad base of experience to her work with the firm’s clients, specializing in tax planning, consulting and research. Poppell is also a speaker on various tax issues.

Poppell is a graduate of Auburn Montgomery, and earned her Masters of Taxation from Georgia State University. She entered public accounting as a Tax Associate with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Montgomery, Alabama.

She holds professional membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). Poppell was the 2017 President for the Federal Tax Clinic, the 2017-2018 President of the  Montgomery Estate Planning Council, and a member of the State and Local Tax Committee of the ASCPA. She is a member of Montgomery Sunrise Rotary and attends First Baptist Church of Montgomery.
