John S. Fendley

John Fendley serves as Jackson Thornton’s president and chief executive officer.  He is responsible for guiding the firm’s strategic direction as well as overall administration and financial management of the firm.  He also serves as the chairman of the Executive Committee of Jackson Thornton.

Prior to being elected president, Fendley brought more than 30 years of experience to his practice in Prattville. He provided accounting and tax services to individuals and small businesses along with assurance and consulting services to financial institutions and agricultural organizations. Growing up on a family farm in rural Alabama, Fendley came to understand the importance of helping people solve problems and plan for the future.

He is active in the community as a member of the Prattville Kiwanis Club and the Prattville Chamber of Commerce, and is an alumnus of Leadership Autauga County. In addition, Fendley serves on the board of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also an active member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church where he has served on the Administrative Board.

Fendley is dedicated to a variety of youth sports programs, having served on local YMCA boards for over 15 years. He has coached more than 100 area youth soccer, basketball and baseball teams.

He is a graduate of Auburn University and holds professional membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.
