Sometimes the biggest accounting firms don’t always see the big picture, especially when it comes to employees. At Jackson Thornton, we’re proud of the atmosphere of goodwill and trust we’ve built among those who work here, and the dedication to solid relationships and enthusiastic client service that results.
Within our company atmosphere, we never lose sight of the importance of treating others the way we want to be treated. We believe a work-life balance serves everyone better than year-round 60-hour weeks. Yes, we work hard. And we also spend a good bit of time within the community – both socially and through volunteering. We’re not just about careers. We’re about opportunities for well-rounded individuals. Within this big picture, Jackson Thornton gives each employee room to grow – both as a professional and as a person.
Jackson Thornton will never treat you like a number. After all, we’re looking for more than numbers – we’re looking for those who can proactively arrive at solutions that make a difference for our clients. Our advisory certified public accountants are professional consultants who build rewarding careers through outstanding personal service to our clients. Jackson Thornton CPAs have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of services to an equally diverse base of industries. We work hard, learning and honing new skills every day. But we also have time to enjoy family, pursue hobbies and leisure activities, or volunteer within our communities.
We have opportunities for interns each year and periodically for experienced CPAs.
Internships for Future CPAs
Interested in pursuing a career as an advisory CPA? Each year, Jackson Thornton offers internships for top accounting students. Check with your school for information on internship opportunities with us. If your university does not coordinate a formal internship program, we will consider individuals who have completed their junior year with a strong GPA. While GPA is one factor we consider, we also realize the importance of other attributes such as communication skills, extracurricular activities, work ethic, and leadership roles. Please be sure your resume and references provide this type of information so we may consider it as well.
The timeline with the schools has moved earlier and earlier over the last few years. Internships are usually awarded by late May for a January start the following year, and typically run through March or April. If it is later in the year and you want to check on potential internship opportunities, contact Amanda Wisdom, Campus Recruiting Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submit a written request with a resume, reference contact information, and a transcript to: email@example.com. An unofficial copy of your transcript is fine during the application process, but an official copy will be needed if selected for an internship. If you have questions, call Amanda Wisdom at 334-834-7660.
